September Networking Mixer

Head on out to the Networking and Philanthropy Committees' yearly Back to School Campaign for school supplies with our Pencil Partner, Kirkpatrick Elementary located in East Nashville. This year, khaki bottoms in children's sizes — pants, skirts, and shorts — are the main need. If everyone can bring one or two pairs, we will have a major impact on these children's lives! Other school supplies like pencils, notebooks, and loose leaf paper are also accepted. The event is happening at The Ranch — Jackalope Brewery's newest location in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. The space houses a production brewery, taproom, and private event space where we will be located.

CEO Roundtable with Joshua Stalets, Be Better Advertising

Join us for another engaging installment of our CEO Roundtable series!

This month we will be hearing from Joshua Stalets, Founder and CEO of Be Better Advertising.

In entrepreneurship, Joshua believes the absolute hardest part is continuing on in the face of adversity. Coming up with a company idea is fun, setting everything up, getting your product ready, winning your initial sales - that stuff is exciting! It's when the tough daily grind comes along that Josh sees so many entrepreneurs give up on their dreams. Josh feels if you discover exactly "why" you started your company in the first place, you'll have the power to continue on when things get extremely hard.

Come discover your "why" on August 30th!

August Membership Meeting

The NJC invites everyone to join us at our August 28th for our monthly meeting. Our guest speaker at this month's meeting will be Laura Chavaria. Laura is the director of the Nashville Humane Association. Growing up in Ohio, Laura has devoted her life to animals, working every role from kennel tech all the way up to Director of the NHA. Before arriving at Nashville Humane Association, Laura has served at the Lee County Domestic Animal Service and the Director of the Williamson County Animal Control. Laura has said that she has a "true passion for animals and aims to provide a high quality of customer service to the public while improving animal welfare."

The Nashville Junior Chamber is thrilled to be partnering with the Nashville Humane Association for the 2018 - 2019 fiscal year. The NHA is one of the oldest service organizations in Nashville, having been incorporated in 1946 and with roots going back to 1887. Through numerous projects and campaigns they have admirably served their mission of finding responsible homes, controlling pet overpopulation, and promoting the humane treatment of animals. We are looking forward to helping them achieve this goal this coming year.
