NAJCC Charitable Partner Explanation
NAJCC Charitable Partner Parameters
The Nashville Area Junior Chamber Charities (NAJCC) has a commitment to partner with national and Nashville-based organizations that focus on developing and supporting underserved youth populations. For events that are hosted and promoted to raise funds for our charitable partners, event revenue will be used to fulfill charitable needs as deemed appropriate by the board.
There are 2 buckets that Charitable Organizations can fall within:
Long Term Charitable Partners: Partnered with the NAJCC for 3 or more years. The NAJCC will support via monetary donations (if applicable) and volunteer opportunities. Listed on our website as a NAJCC Charitable Partner.
Volunteer Only: The NAJCC will support via volunteer opportunities only. No long term commitment.
This application is for Long Term Charitable Partners.
The NAJCC operates on a July 1 - June 30 fiscal year.
Identifying Process & Eligibility
All organizations interested in becoming a charitable partner, must complete this application by June 30 each year.
Eligible Charitable Organizations must be in good financial standing, good legal standing, and good standing with the State of Tennessee. Preferred Charitable Organizations will have volunteer opportunities for the NAJCC to participate in and have a volunteer base of their own that is willing to help with NAJCC events.
Within a given year, the NAJCC limits our Long Term Charitable Partners to no more than 3 organizations.
If the partnership term ends, the Charitable Organization must reapply to be considered.
Selection Process and Announcement
Partnerships and goals will be determined by the Philanthropy and Executive committees with additional insight provided by the Board at the July board meeting for the fiscal year.
At July's NAJCC Board of Governors Meeting (typically 2nd Monday of the month), partnerships and respective charitable goals will be proposed by the Philanthropy Chair(s) and voted on for approval by the Board of Governors.
Charitable Partners along with respective term/goals will be announced by July 31 and updated on the NAJCC website accordingly.
Donations
Monetary donations will be made at the end of each fiscal year. Monetary donation goals will be set for each charitable partner by the Board at the beginning of the fiscal year. At the June board meeting, the board will determine if goals were met and the amount of donation to be presented to each eligible organization.
Termination
The Charitable Partner relationship can be terminated at any time via the following:
By the NAJCC if the organization ceases to meet any of the eligibility requirements
By the Charitable Organization if they no longer have an interest in working with the NAJCC
Or, if the partnership term ends without the Charitable Organization reapplying for consideration
Termination requested by the Charitable Organization must be put in writing and sent to philanthropy@nashvillejuniorchamber.org, president@nashvillejuniorchamber.org, and legal@nashvillejuniorchamber.org.
If you feel you know of an organization that would be a good fit to become a Charitable Partner of the NJC, please submit its information to the Board of Governors for review. Charitable Partners are selected annually in July.
